Alexa is a board-certified orthopedic physician assistant licensed in Illinois collaborating with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Michael Durkin. Specializing in general orthopedics, fracture care, joint replacement, and sports medicine, Alexa independently conducts comprehensive patient examinations, diagnoses, and treatments. Her practice encompasses pre-operative and post-operative patient care and addresses new orthopedic concerns. Alexa adeptly orders and interprets diagnostic tests, prescribes medications, administers joint injections, and assists in surgical procedures. Alexa finds fulfillment in assisting individuals from diverse backgrounds through every stage of their medical journey. She prioritizes patient engagement and actively involves them in decision-making processes to promote their well-being and mobility.

Alexa’s interest in orthopedics began during her high school years, inspired by her grandfather, a retired orthopedic surgeon. She gained invaluable experience by shadowing him in both clinical and surgical settings, ultimately shaping her career path. Proud to uphold her grandfather’s legacy, Alexa is committed to delivering high-quality orthopedic care to her patients.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Alexa enjoys hobbies such as scrapbooking, DIY home projects, and dancing. She also enjoys spending time with her fiancé and Australian shepherd, Loki.
